Accommodation

Executive Rooms each with ceiling fans, comfortable lounge chairs, huge mosquito nets, tea and coffee stations and prívate furnished verandas. All rooms overlook our infinity pool to the lake beyond.

• 2 x 2 bedroomed Executive Family Rooms, Each with a King size bed and 2 singles and bathroom.

Deluxe A Frames each en suite with ceiling fans, comfortable lounge chairs, huge mosquito nets, tea and coffee stations, prívate furnished verandas and small gardens. These rooms overlook and have direct access to the beach.

The Main Lodge

A large impressive thatch building, housing the Reception, Bar and Restaurant, opening onto a large view deck with magnificent views of the lake and the Vipya mountains. Conferencing facilities available.

Activities

At Ngala, we offer excellent facilities for all.  Apart from relaxing in the sun and enjoying the peace and quiet we offer a range of activities such as Hiking, Sunset cruises, Hippo and Crocodile Cruise, Bird watching and Cultural village tours.

Further afield the following activities are available:

Kasasa Country Club – allows full use of all facilities, which include: Excellent Golf Course, Tennis and Squash. This club is approximately 18 km from the lodge.    We also have access to the beautiful 9 Hole Golf Course at the Club, where a Round will cost you very Little.

Dwambazi Falls – This is a 3 hour round trip walk and swim in the pool if desired. The walk starts 19km from the lodge.

Scuba Diving & Horse riding – Ngala Beach lodge offers a great Day Excursion to the North, where you can dive at a PADI Resort for pleasure or even do a Dive Course.  In addition, you can have the opportunity to go Horse riding into the Forests and along the Beach, ending with a Swim in Lake Malawi, with your Horse.

Within easy travelling distance (68 km south) is the Nkhotakota Game Reserve, 1400 square kilometres, presently under development. The Game Reserve is stocked and has an elephant population but roads are generally bad. The only major animals not encountered here are Giraffe and Rhino.

Location

Ngala Beach Lodge is situated on the Northern Lakeshore of Lake Malawi.  Approximately 3 hours drive on tar, 284 kilometres North of Lilongwe between Salima and Nkhata Bay. This road is in good condition and well serviced. Ngala Beach Lodge is only 400 meters off the Main Road, situated 15 kilometres north of Dwangwa. It is well sign posted with our orange and black logo.
